The primary function of the Transport & Logistics & Automotive ITAB is to provide information and advice on the training needs of the automotive and transport and logistics industry sectors.
The training needs of people involved in the sales of vehicles and associated parts and components, all types of repair both mechanical and body, the sales and repair of outdoor power equipment, bicycles and marine craft, the manufacture of vehicles and components, are all covered by the ITAB.
The transport & logistics & automotive training areas covered by the ITAB encompass activity in logistics and warehousing, road transport, aviation, rail, maritime and ports, covering a diverse range of occupations, from crews of vehicles, trains, vessels and aircraft, to staff involved in engineering, infrastructure, tourism, hospitality, security, retailing, warehousing, administration, and information technology.
The ITAB provides advice on behalf of the industry to the government on current and future training needs, as well as industry views on training policies.
The ITAB also works to promote the best training content and delivery methods to the industry, along with advice to industry, Registered Training Organisations and Australian Apprenticeship Centres on training matters generally and the implementation of National Training Packages in NSW.
